Gemma & Ben’s Easter Wedding at Stanford Farm, Shropshire
A joyful and relaxed spring weekend celebration
Gemma and Ben celebrated their Easter weekend wedding in unforgettable style at the charming Stanford Farm in Shropshire. With clear skies and a soft April breeze, the weather set the perfect tone for a joyful and relaxed spring celebration.
The festivities began the evening before the big day with a warm and intimate family meal in the farmhouse. The bride and groom hosted around 18 close family members, creating a beautiful start to the wedding weekend with laughter, good food, and the comforting buzz of anticipation.
Much of the wedding's unique charm came from the personal touches woven throughout. Gemma and Ben, alongside their families, transformed the Cowhouse into a stunning reception space, complete with handcrafted decorations. Among the standout details were the delightful Easter eggs nestled among the table décor, both festive and fitting for the season.
The ceremony itself was a moving experience. As Gemma walked down the aisle, a solo violinist performed a tender instrumental version of Bryan Adams' “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You.” During the signing of the register, Ed Sheeran's “Perfect” filled the room, echoing the emotions of the moment.
After the ceremony, guests gathered in the Courtyard for fizz and canapés, served by the brilliant team from Urban Grillhouse. For the wedding breakfast, they delivered rustic-style sharing platters filled with delicious BBQ fare, followed by an assiette of desserts that delighted everyone. Later in the evening, Urban Grillhouse returned with a selection of freshly made pizzas, perfect fuel for a night of dancing. Later, the energy lifted as the band Notorious JIG took to the stage, getting guests on their feet with an electrifying ceilidh set.
Rather than opting for a traditional wedding cake, the couple chose to make their own Easter-inspired crispy cakes. This playful twist added a personal touch to the dessert table. One of the bridesmaids also made full use of Stanford Farm’s “prop stop", transforming the sweet cart into one of the most eye-catching displays of the day.
The celebration was rich in heartfelt and memorable moments: the flower girl dancing with her mum during the ceremony in the Stables, and Gemma and Ben sharing their first dance right in the middle of the Ceilidh circle, surrounded by friends and family, the joy was palpable.
Some of the most unique elements reflected the couple’s creativity and love for one another. Their beloved dog, Ralph, made an appearance at the ceremony in a dapper outfit of his own. The bride’s parents had lovingly grown and dried the flowers used for the confetti, a meaningful and eco-conscious detail. Each table was named after places the couple had travelled together, complete with photos and flags from those destinations, giving guests a glimpse into their adventures.
Gemma and Ben’s wedding was a beautiful blend of love, laughter, and family, with personal touches that made it uniquely theirs. Stanford Farm provided the perfect rustic backdrop for this joyful celebration, and it’s safe to say that everyone left with full hearts, full stomachs, and memories to treasure.
“... and Stanford Farm have been brilliant; Keith over there... A big shout out to Keith!” (followed by huge cheer from the guests)”
